The Clothing Barn has an interesting history that dates back to 1949 with the start of the Lord’s Acre Auction, which included selling clothes. Initially, the auction took place in the church building and the old barn. Clothes were placed in large boxes and piles in the middle of the floor, where people would sort through them and purchase items for ten or twenty-five cents each. Higher quality items were hung on a clothes rack approximately 8 feet long on each side, with men's clothes in a separate section.

In the early days, Jane Rendell managed the clothes, storing them at her home before bringing them to the church for the October auction. By the late '70s, a "Spring Sale" was introduced in May to sell summer clothes, books, linens, and White Elephant items, continuing until 1997. Rosemary Moore saw the need for good used clothing year-round, leading to the creation of THE CLOTHING BARN. Initially housed in the Sunday School room, it moved to the barn's back section due to space constraints, selling men's clothes only at the auction. With the construction of the new barn in 1999, THE CLOTHING BARN expanded to include men's clothing, shoes, boots, and household items, jewelry and accessories, becoming what it is today. Lori Tillman heads this group of wonderful ladies!
